Lingua originale: Greco

Κατά την πρώιμη φάση του Ανώτερον Καινοζωικού (δηλ. των τελευταίων 23 εκατομμυρίων χρόνων), ο σημερινός ελλαδικός χώρος καλυπτόταν από την Αιγαιίδα.
Note sulla traduzione
I don't understand what "Αιγαιίδα" means.
Does it means Aegean sea? or Aegean kingdom, or Aegean tribe?
In my understanding, it is a noun of Aegean, but in English, the equivalent word is not present. Is there one or a combination. And, what is the exact meaning of it?
Just Aegean sea or something more?

Titolo

Note sulla traduzione
Aigiida: During the above mentioned period Aiggida was an extensive region of land constituted by Greece, Aegean and Cretan sea, and the west coast of Turkey. Thank you so much!
I was told it was a myth.
And can you tell me, if it has any archeological ground?
