Are you sure about the word "thorns" it seems to me rather strange in this context.
There is an adage "through hardship to the stars", a translation of the Latin "per ardua ad astra" which was used in one Robert Heinlein's Sci Fi books.
Maybe it would be more understandable than the thorns?

27 Agost 2008 16:27 | | | I think that this sentence in Russian corresponds to the Latin expression "Per aspera ad Astra" -"Through hardships to the stars". Though if literally translated from Russian into English, it would be indeed "Through the thorns to the stars". |
