Αν και μου φαίνεται μια χαρά η μετάφραση αναρωτιέμαι: Μπας και θα έπρεπε να προσθέσουμε το "σου εύχομαι"; Ρωτάω γιατί τα Ιταλικά μου δεν είναι και τόσο σόι οπότε δεν ξέρω αν στο πρωτότυπο το "auguro" είναι θέμα επιλογής ή είναι λίγο-πολύ αναγκαστικό.

It means:

Have a good day. I love you.

Thanks kafetzou I know that but I was wondering if we should translate it "I wish you a good day" or "Have a good day" I guess. Also when it says pronunciation how do you think we should handle this?

I can't speak for Greek, but in English, we don't say "I wish you a good day" - we say "Have a good day". I think this translation is correct, but it really depends on what is normal Greek.

Well, I was trying to exemplify here. As I mentioned in my first post, I have no idea whether the "I wish" part is the norm in Italian or not. If it's the norm then yes, in both English and Greek it shouldn't be included. If it's not the norm and it's the writer's choice then it should shouldn't it? Mind you in Greek, though not usual, it is not wrong.

I think we need an Italian expert to solve this problem.

Ti auguro -> It contains the "action" of wishing.

So I would prefer: I wish you a good day

Note: in the notes the requester is asking for pronunciation (!!!).

Thanks, Xini, but

1) Is the first sentence awkward in Italian?

2) Does this mean the requester wants the Greek written in Latin letters?

1) no it's not

2) he wants both (pronunciation in notes). I don't know if he'll understand IPA so better use latin letters for pronounciation
