But the other people don't know what they do when they wake up, just as they forget what they do when they're asleep. Eyes and ears are bad witnesses to people with undeveloped souls.

Excellent but i think ''ἐπι+λανθάνονται'' means forget -something like: just as they forget what they do when (they are) asleep.

Uru,I googled it and I found a translationhere .

But (δὲ) other (ἄλλους) men (ἀνθρώπους) know not (λανθάνει) what they are doing (ποιοῦσιν) when you wake (ἐγερθέντες) them up, just as (ὅκωσπερ) they forget (ἐπιλανθάνονται), what they do when asleep (εὕδοντες).

Hope it helps!

Ah, that's the original text!

Odd, I'd swear ἐγερθέντες is passive, yet it's translated as active. Maybe that translation is more fluent? Anyway, that one is correct for sure! Thanks

επιλανθάνω I would either translate as don't know or "miss", "don't realize", I think.

Anyway, while not verbatim translation maybe, it's more than perfect for meaning only eh?
