εϲμεν??
There isn't "c" in Ancient Greek!
This is John, 10, 30:
"Ego kaj ho pater hen esmen"... (εγω και ο πατηρ εν εσμεν- without diacritics, but I can put them if it is needed)

I have taken it from Codex Sinaiticus
http://www.codexsinaiticus.org/en/manuscript.aspx?book=36&chapter=10&lid=en&side=r&verse=30&zoomSlider=0

I'm curious also why manuscript contains a lot of "C" chars. Looks like C is greek σ. Anyway what does "en esmen" means ? Equality ("the same" or unity ("the one" ?

"esmen" = (we) are, forest
In Internet there are a lot of mistakes, so don't follow it...

Aneta, could you post how the original should read so that we can edit/correct?

Yes, of course. Give me a while, ok? Putting diacritics isn't easy with my poor tools

ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἕν ἐσμεν

but I’d put a capital letter at the beginning of the sentence (like it is in the original Ancient Greek Bible), so it should be:

Ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἕν ἐσμεν

I would correct also the English translation a bit.

Traditional translation of these words sounds:
My Father and I are one

Actually "C" is the form of "σ" which was used during the Byzantine Times. It is also used in Orthodox Christian icons (e.g.IHCOΥC XΡΙCTOC).Forest,it seems that your source (or the specific edition) is written according to the Medieval Greek writing style.

Aneta B. could you please tell me how do we put Ancient Greek diacritics?

Wow! I didn't know this Byzantine Ancient Greek. But, the Bible was written in previous times, so I prefer classical version... I don't know how the sentence should be changed if we want to type it in the Byzantine Ancient Greek, for example what diacritics we should put in this case...So I would choose the classical version, which I proposed above.
Diacritics you can find here:

I used the American Standart Version (also in English Revised Version).

I agree we should use the classical version.
Thank you!

ok. You're welcome. I like to be helpful!

A propos the tool. You must use it by simple "copy&paste" way. I didn't find any better tool since now yet. But, if you find sth, please, tell me about it too, ok?

"My Father and I are one"

I would like to ask if this is the only possible translation (the meaning).?

USER10 used "American Standart Version" in his translation, so it seems that both are correct, forest.
