Text
Submitted by apple
Source language: German

Die Lösung zu sein, das er trotz aller tondichterischen Schilderungen der Vögel das geschwirre der mannigfachen Stimmen nicht Selbstzweck werden läßt, sondern die Tonschilderungen einer breit und warm empfundenen Melodik einordnet
Remarks about the translation
I need to have this text translated, from someone who knows very well German and knows something about music, in one of these languages: English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, no matter wich one.

Title
To be the solution, the fact that he does not allow
Translation
English

Translated by kafetzou
Target language: English

To be the solution, the fact that he does not allow the whirr of the various voices to be a goal in itself in spite of all the tone poetic depictions of birds, but rather assigns the tone depictions to a broad and warm-feeling melodic genre.
Remarks about the translation
Ich hatte Probleme mit der Ãœbersetzung des Wortes "Melodik".
I had problems transating the word "Melodik". Also, in the first five words it seems like there's something missing. What is the referent for "das" (the 5th word)?

Thank you, Kafetzou
The complete sentence is:
Sehr glücklich scheint mir auch die Lösung zu sein, das er trotz aller tondichterischen Schilderungen der Vögel das Geschwirre der mannigfachen Stimmen nicht Selbstzweck werden läßt, sondern die Tonschilderungen einer breit und warm empfundenen Melodik einordnet.
It may help you to know that this is a review written in 1920. It is an Austrian musician who talks about a new opera of a German composer.

Thanks, apple, but I still have a question: Is it "das" or "daß"? I still can't find its referent.

It's "daß", exchanging "das" and "daß" is an error that is made quite often, even by Germans. Btw, "daß" is actually written "dass" since a few years ago - but everybody understands it when you write "daß", just wanted to mention that. [And sorry for my English..]

OK; in that case I stand by my translation. Thanks, Rumo.

Thanks, Rumo and Kafetzou.
Actually, it was "daß". Sorry for my spelling mistake!
