Gare parece uma cidade, mas acho que quer dizer "estação"

Je suis encore venu te chercher à la gare
Eu vim novamente procurar por você na estação

But "encore" here doesn't mean "one more time", it rather means "still", according to the fact the boy was tired, but still went to the station and picked his friend up there.

Can you please explain what "pick you up" means in this context? I'm afraid I didn't get it...

for instance, I'm going to have a game of pool somewhere, and I give some friend of mine a phonecall, telling "I'm going to pick you up at your home and we're going to have a game of pool"
in French "je passe te prendre", or "je viendrai te chercher"...
