As for providing our Russian friends with a bridge from this text above, the fact it is lacking some context (actually the verb "évite" would need an object for the sentence to be perfectly understandable) would let us avoid translating "évite" literally.

Here is one possible bridge :

"Well, don't do it as long as you're an apprentice."

Hi Fracky!!

I tried to google it and I believe the request is not sort of proverb oh saying, right?

And I have a question about "apprentissage". Is it a widely used common word (as the translation into Russian is quite the opposite)?

PS To sound more smoothly in Russian I'd rather translate it as "Don't do it till you learn how to". May be I'll write it in the comments

You're right, it is not about a saying, nor about a proverb, and I'd rather give this text the same meaning as you did, "apprentissage" is also widely used in French, eg : "Faire l'apprentissage de la vie" -one couldn't do wider with the meaning of this word in a sentence-

You can use your bridge for translating into Russian!
