aplasam, it may interest you to know that this proverb is in a two-thousand-year-old Chinese book called the Tao Te Ching, by Lao-tzu, where it is written
千里之行、始於足下
This literally means
"A journey of a thousand miles begins under one's feet"
but this book has often been variously (mis-)translated, and has entered our Western culture in the form you have proposed...
I have never heard of a similar proverb in Hinduism, although I have studied it quite a lot...
I just hoped you might find this information interesting!
