Sopa Dourada:
500g açúcar
100g de miolo de amêndoa migado
100g de bolacha Maria ralada
8 ovos
2,5dl de água
canela

Põe-se o açúcar num tacho com a água, vai ao lume e ferve até obter o ponto fio. Junta-se a amêndoa e deixa-se ferver mais um pouco.
Entretanto batem-se muito bem os ovos e por fim mistura-se a bolacha Maria. Junta-se a mistura de bolacha e ovos com a calda com a amêndoa e vai ao lume brando mexendo sempre até engrossar. Deita-se o doce numa taça e polvilha-se com canela.

500g sugar
100g chopped almond kernels
100g grated Marie biscuits
8 eggs
2.5 dl water
cinnamon

Place the sugar in a pan with the water, take to the heat and let it cook until the thread stage. Mix in the almonds and let it boil a little.
Meanwhile, mix very well the eggs and finally mix the Marie biscuits. Add to the the mix of biscuits and eggs, the sauce of almonds and cook in low heat stirring constantly until thickened. Pour the sweet in a bowl and sprinkle with cinnamon.

Caramelisation starts at about 160 C (320 F) (i.e. glucose sugar cooked at sea level; temps will be different for other sugars at other altitudes). Ponto fio is when the syrup, dripped into cold water, forms a thin thread, which is at about 110 C. In British English this is called the thread stage.

In my interpretation the source text says "Add the mix of biscuits and eggs to the sauce of almonds"
