According to a law in Florida, single mothers are obliged to reveal their past in the local newspaper when they want to have their baby adopted.

Some pro - voters are now horrified because they’ve voted for the law.

C'est très peu de chose, bien sûr (et je me rends bien compte que cette dernière traduction a déjà été validée) mais je tenais seulement à vous indiquer que le "kokoro" du japonais d'origine pourrait indiquer soit "l'esprit" (en anglais "the mind," pas "the spirit" ) soit "le coeur." Par contre, *l'âme* serait en japonais "seishin" (l'esprit/spirit) ou "tamashii."

Alors poétiquement, la traduction en français va naturellement très bien et, en tant que traducteur qui fait souvent des traductions semblables moi-même, je n'y retiens aucune objection. C'est seulement que si du point de vue lexique, l'écrivain japonais avait voulu dire "l'âme" il aurait pu le dire, et alors il a existé une traduction plus exacte, que l'on aurait peut-être dû préférer à la présente.

Je ne sais pas si après coup vous pouvez éditer le texte, ni si c'est en fait très important de le faire après tout, mais j'ai uniquement pensé vous faire part de mes idées là-dessus...

Merci de ton message sympa! C'est avec joie que je te tutoie maintenant, car comme t'as vu dans le message que j'ai envoyée à jp peut-être, toujours avoir à vouvoyer mon interlocuteur me donne vite mal à la tête!

Tu sais, ici à Niigata au Japon, j'ai un ami Belge qui est prêtre catholique (à son dire, ça fait au moins trente ans qu'il habite ici). J'ai remarqué que nous partageons parfois quelques expressions qui diffèrent des versions officelles de l'Académie Française -- et que nous partageons parfois même des attitudes vis-à-vis la communication en tant que telle. (Et parfois, bien sûr, nous divergeons tous les deux de ce qui prévale en France, mais dans nos propres façons à nous! )

Il faut dire que nous sommes tellement peu de francophones ici où j'habite (bien que cela soit une ville d'un million de personnes), que je me régale de chaque opportunité de parler français! Dû au fait que j'utilise de l'anglais au quotidien dans mes études et aussi que je continue à me perfectionner en japonais, parfois je me retrouve avec du français colorié par ces deux autres langues, quand il m'arrive de le parler...

Pour ce qui est de ma participation chez Cucumis, cela m'est vraiment un plaisir de pouvoir contribuer le peu qui m'est possible ici; je ne connais bien que trois langues -- mon chinois n'étant encore qu'au niveau intermédiaire -- mais certains ici, toi compris, en ont maîtrisé une bonne dizaine! Pourtant, il m'est quand même très satisfaisant de pouvoir proposer à la communauté ici des textes rédigés en français ou japonais, car j'ai très peu de chance chez moi maintenant d'en faire autrement qu'en anglais!
