Hi Madeleine

In English, the saying is

"Do unto others as you would have done unto you."

Shall we edit it in this way and validate?

Hi

I edited the text and have reset a poll to avoid any confusion.

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." I found this archaic version too.
and other saying : "Treat people the way you want to be treated".

"Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." is the idiomatic expression.

Hello, you can say that in so many ways . I don't know which one is better.
I am perfectly fine with all of them.

In romanian we say : "Ce ţie nu îţi place, altuia nu face"

Hi Myrddin

Welcome to cucumis. It's the first time we meet

It is precisely because the English has a ready made, idiomatic expression that I edited Madeleine's version, which conveyed the general meaning but which "felt" translated. A good translation is one that "feels" like it written directly in the target language.

I will add Freya's suggestion in the comments under the translation as an alternative to this rather old fashioned one.

Thanks for everyone's help.
