If so, a Latin word that fits best here is "stulti".

So, could you please tell me what does "insanus" mean? I've always considered it a synonym...

1. stultus = fool/stupid person
2. insanus = crazy/insane person

The first one refers rather to one's intelligence/knowledge/mental ability, the second one to one's behaviour (craziness = abnormal behaviour) or to one's health condition(being not well).

I meant "fool" and not "full", sorry
Well, I'm not 100% sure of the meaning of "loucos", we'd better ask for the opinion of an expert.

Could you please tell us if "os loucos" means "the fool/stupid people" or rather "the crazy/insane people"?
