We are NOT talking about high-school or anything before that though. It must be a Uni or college she is talking about though because of the mention of "semester" (see note e)
c) there is one word for both nieces and nephews and this is the one used in the original.
d) the last sentence would be something "sweet kisses to you all" in proper English.
