1) What's an orach?

2) What is this supposed to mean?

Sorry for the delay of my answer. The orach is a plant which was used - and it is still used today in some countries- to make cooked food. I will send you the link to wikipedia. This text is about the confusion some people used to make between this plant and spinach, because their leaves are very similar.

the plant in this picture is from orach's species but it is not the one described in the latin text

Wow - thanks for the clarification - I was really lost! Now I have one more question: Which word did you translate with the word "represents"? I cannot find that in the original Latin. It looks like "is seen as our spinach" to me.

I made some major changes now to make it make sense in English. Is it still correct? Please put your response here under the translation rather than in my in-box. Thanks!
