I think that there must be a fault in the source text, that's WHY I wrote "I hope that we ..." It sounds strange to write "I hope that you will have a pleasant stay by you..." 
About the rest you suggest ...I'm not sure? | | |

Jag krånglade nog till det genom att fundera över vem som var värdfamilj 
Vid närmare eftertanke kom jag dock på att om dotterns familj hade bjudit hem den andra familjen (vilket jag såg som en alternativ) hade man nog skrivit "Jag hoppas ni får en trevlig vistelse hos oss tillsammans med vår dotter. Hela vår familj ser fram emot att få träffa och lära känna ...." och det gjorde man ju inte
