Hi Lilian

I was thinking of doing the translation -> Italian.
I don't understand what "gal" means, could you please help me?

Thanks

Sorry to jump in - it's a bit of a slang word for girl. Not necessarily impolite (like the original seems to be) but certainly very informal. Good luck!

Yeah, that is a word which I had to learn staying in the GB, Alex.
At the beginning I really thought that somebody out there just didn't know English grammar, but after a while I noticed that many guys tent to use the "gal", especially in theirs texts. I suspect the reason is their tendency to get the messages the shortest possible, so if "girl" have 4 letters and "gal" has only 3, the second is better.
There may be another reason too. From my personal experience, it seems many people pronounce many English words totally uncorrect. Then I suspect a pronunciation of a "girl" was cruelly distorted and replaced by the "gal"!
