Ako me volis Ako me zaista volis...
Text
Submitted by Aleksandra Nikolic
Source language: Serbian

Ako me volis
Ako me zaista volis
zasto me onda ne uvedes u svoje snove
i zasto vrata ne zakljucas
zasto ne ostavis poruku svetu
da ni za koga nisi kod kuce?

Ako me volis
zasto od mene krades svoje najlepse vreme
zasto gledas u sat na ruci
zasto se konacno ne okrenes
kazaljkama mojih zelja
zasto ne ostanes?

Ako me volis
zasto pristajes na tudja pravila igre
zasto me varas danima praznim
zasto bez mene odlazis igde
zasto ne ostanes?

Title
If you love me, if you really love me...
Translation
English

Translated by Roller-Coaster
Target language: English

If you love me,
If you really love me,
Why don't you let me into your dreams,
And why don't you lock the door?
Why don't you leave a message to the world,
That you're not at home for anyone?

If you love me,
Why are you stealing from me your best time?
Why are you looking at a watch on your hand?
Why don't you, finally, turn back,
With the hands of my wishes?
Why don't you stay?

If you love me,
Why are you accepting the others' game rules?
Why are you cheating on me with hollow days,
Why are you leaving without me,
Why don't you stay?
Remarks about the translation
I have a problem with "needles", "watch hand", "pointers" (part of a clock which shows time). I must admit I never used that word before... Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi Bojana,
The English looks fine.

That "clock" should be "watch" since it is in his hand not in the wall.

The needles which point the time are really the "hands" of the watch.
Maybe instead of "with pointers of my wishes" it could simply be:
"the hands of my wishes"

others' ------> the others'
a hollow days -----> hollow days

Perhaps we should add some question marks too.

What do you think?

Hey Lili,

I fixed it. Tell me if it is ok now with those question marks?

Thank you!
