Titre
Ég vil bæði lif'og vona, ég vil brenna upp af...
Texte
Proposé par Limpo
Langue de départ: Islandais

Ég vil bæði lif'og vona,
ég vil brenna upp af ást,
ég vil lifa með þér svona,
ég vil gleðjast eða þjást.
Meðan leikur allt í lyndi
líka þegar illa fer,
meðan lífið heldur áfram
þá vil ég vera hjá þér.

Titre
I want both life and hope
Traduction
Anglais

Traduit par pias
Langue d'arrivée: Anglais

I want to live and hope,
I want to burn of love,
I want to live with you like this,
I want to be happy or be plagued.
While everything is fine
also in bad times,
while life moves on
then I want to be by your side.

I don't know what "lif'og" is. I believe should be "Ég vil bæði lifa og vona". Then it means "to live" and "to hope".

"Slowly" isn't in the Icelandic text.

Pia, have you been to any Icelandic course lately? Because you have translated it very well.

Thanks for the kind compliment Ernst, but I have not read Icelandic lately.

Lilian,
shall I edit to:
"I want to live and hope,"
"while life moves on"

Bamsa, I did a new search and found "lif og" here, may it be that the "lif'" in this source is wrong and shall be just "lif" (life).

?

It can't be the word "lif" or more correct "líf". It is not correct to say "Ég vil bæði líf og vona". Then we have to change the Icelandic text e.g. "vona" have to be "von" -> "líf og von" and the word "hafa" have to be before "líf og von". Then it would be a big change of the text, instead of only an "a" in "lifa"

The meaning will do if you're only searching for ~meaning. But it's not exact.

Lilian,
according to Lena and also Bamsa "ég vil gleðjast eða þjást." should be "I want to be happy or be plagued".

May I edit again? (sorry for that)
