the French "on" is generally translated by "one" into English, but for this kind of general meaning, in English I think "you" is used the most often.

Thanks for the explanation, Francky. Efee translated it in the 1st person plural, but it is still acceptable I think. General thoughts in Latin may be expressed also in plural form.
