Derefter efterlod de ham på jernbaneskinnerne,...
Texto

Then they left him on the railway tracks where a train ran over his lifeless body. During the interrogation the prosecutor asked one of the boys: "What made you do it?" After a few silent moments the answer came: "I don't know." Since the boys' life sentence, both sociologists and psychologists have tried to make thorough inquiries concerning the two boys' early life, trying to find an answer. It's a sad and unpredictable pattern of two children left to pass the time in the shopping center, with problems at school and dismissive and indifferent parents.
Notas sobre a tradução
Found it quite hard and had to check words in a dictionary. If it's to faulty, my dear expert, you're welcome to reject it.

I made a few edits - here is your original translation for comparison:

Then they left him on the railways tracks where a train ran over his lifeless body. During the interrogation the prosecutor asked one of the boys: "What made you do it?" After a few silent moments the answer came: "I don't know."
Since the boys' Life Judgement have both sociologists and psychologists tried to make thorough inquiries concerning the two boys' growth trying to find an answer.
It's a sad and inpredictale pattern of two children left to pasttime in the shopping center with problems at school and dismissives and indifferents parents.

The only one I wasn't sure of was "early life" - I was guessing from the context, as I don't understand Danish.

I forgot to say, gamine - I found your translation really good. There were just a few things that I needed to change as a native speaker.
