if Soya Ağacı is a nickname(handle), it means "soyabean tree"

It's correct but I wonder if it is tried to be written as "soy ağacı" in the original text.. ?
If so, the translation should be "Family tree/genealogy, do you know Turkish?"

Can be but we don't know it. And it is "Soya ağacı" not "soy ağacı".

We can not change the names. "soyabean tree" is not O.k.

Hi merdogan, I'm not totally convinced about "soya ağacı" being a name.
Let's ask for some help, OK?

Girls, what do you think?

When I saw this initially, I rejected it, but now that I've thought about it, I think that merdogan is right. "soya ağacı" is somebody's handle on a forum or here on Cucumis. It means "soybean tree", but it wouldn't make sense to say, "Soybean tree, do you know Turkish?"

I think this translation is correct.

Because of the comment under the request, I agree with cheesecake and guess it should be soyağacı.

Ah - I just saw that, and now I agree with cheesecake and turkishmiss - the writer probably meant to write "soy ağacı" - "family tree" - and put in an extra "a" by mistake. What do you think, merdogan?

translation looks right, but becouse of the comment under the turkish text, it should be 'soyağacı, do you know turkish?' and it should be explaned the meaning of soyağacı(family tree) at the note pool, methinks.

What I understood from the comment under the request they have same familie name and it is Soya Ağacı. Am I wrong?

I think, whatever 'Soya/Soy Ağacı' is a nickname(handle) like 'merdogan', not family name.

merdogan, if lilian allow that, perhaps you can keep your translation and note the other possible variations as a comment. cos, we're not sure 'soy' or 'soya', and it is hard to guess which one is the right one.

I think that because the recipient does NOT actually know Turkish, it's unlikely that her name/handle was soy/soya ağacı. I think it should be translated. If it actually was her handle, she'll understand.
