I think

Cucumisとは翻訳者のコミュニティであり、
メンバーが自分の技能を提供して助け合うオンラインサービスです。[/b]

互いに is not needed, because 合う of verb 助け means
"help each other". 互いに助け合う sounds like "help each other each other" in english.

Original Translation before edits:

Notes:
Mihail's grammatical addition ("de ari" ) sounded better to me, too.
As for the phrase used to translate "help each other", the translator's version sounded all right to me, but just to make sure, I Googled it as a phrase (in "quotation marks", so it wouldn't get searched for in pieces), and it came up with 197,000+ hits, so obviously some other Japanese people consider it to not be too redundant to use...
On the other hand, "linguistic knowledge" had simply been translated with a very general word meaning "ability" (in spite of the fact that the exact term for "linguistic knowledge" is also used in Japanese): this was corrected.

This is indeed a better translation (であり、 言語知識). As for the redundancy, i don't know as it is indeed (mis?)used quite often here.
