Certainly, one could ask who is most to blame.
The Tobacco Expert, happy that he has been invited on the TV shows and who will benefit from trying to defend his way of living, even if in doing so he forgets the fact that he swore an oath when he became a doctor ...
Or the journalist who for various reasons, either not to displease the powers that be in taking part, prefers to invite a tobacco expert to speak on the subject rather than a lung specialist, isn't he rather directly concerned with the harm done by tobacco and the stated benefits brought about from electronic cigarettes?
And speaking of the Press, it won't have escaped anyone's notice that the study(containing good and credible evidence) was carried out by the other consumer association (some choice!), not a government agency, who wouldn't have had two minutes to echo each other on the different TV channels, so that the rather shaky communication of the second (the government agency) is in the process of filling up as much space in print as in audio-visual!
Certainly to please the powers that be remains the favourite method of the French press.
I accuse ...
Yes, I accuse the study of 60 million consumers of having been compromised, in as much as one can consider that its only law doesn't compromise itself ipso facto, in an operation of disinformation which wouldn't merit the flow of ink that it has ended up costing, indeed, the lives of thousands of smokers who won't be given the chance to give up tobacco altogether through the electronic cigarette.
I am one of those who had that opportunity. I haven't smoked for several months and I have had a stock of materials (E-cigarettes, patches, batteries) and products (flavoured chewing gum) for several years and so personally I am no longer directly affected by the iniquitous methods that our superiors bring in.
It is also the case that a good many of the current e-cigarette smokers who have felt the rough winds arrive are fighting to defend their right to smoke e-cigarettes, not so much for themselves as for others, smokers who haven't yet benefited from the arrival of the electronic cigarette and who risk never being able to have the opportunity.
