This text is related to the Physics, and it is about Thomas-Fermi Theory, I have doubt about the "S'amonema" expression, I'm write all the text to give a global idea

The Thomas-Fermi's theory

It is called semiclassical theory.
It is based on a statistical description of the homogeneous gas.
It performs a local approximation for the inhomogeneous system.
It is the basis of the density functional theory.

Maybe

- 'it is called a semiclassical theory'
- leave the 'the' before homogeneous out? Or even make it 'a homogeneous gas'? And 'inhomogeneous systems'?

I know that makes the translation less literal but I think (am not sure, mind) that this is the way it would be said in English.

Either way, the meaning is fine

Lein,

1) "named" -> "called"

2) It seems "homogeneous gas" (theoretically) refers to a sole entity (i.e. there is only one), so I think we can't suppress or change the article for the indefinite one...

2) Same thing on "inhomogeneous system": it seems to exist only one (theoretically speaking).

OK, thanks Goncin. I suppose just wasn't quite sure how it works in Catalan.

Obrigado, eu estava em dúvida, como já havia dito, em relação ao termo S'anomena, a tradução me foi muito útil.
Thanks for help, it was so useful for me. I had doubt, like I said before, only the about the "S'anomena" term.
In respect to the rest of the text, I have an English book, that have a chapter about this theory, and in this chapter have this paragraph:
"This theory, one starts from realtions appropriate to the homogeneous gas electron and then applies these locally in the inhomogenoeus charge cloud..."
