Rozpalasz we mnie ognisko
Odchodzisz ...

Twej obecności i bliskości
Twej pamięci
Męskiej pasji
Twego zachwytu ...

You kindle a bonfire in me
You leave...
It takes a long time to fade away ...
I don't want to help it
I don't want to look at the grey ash ...
I don't want to feel the emptiness and yearning
For what has been and might never come back

I don't want to give you everything
In order not to lose it
I don't want to tell you everything
It's not worth it ...

I want what you want -
Your presence and closeness
Your remembrance
Male passion
Your admiration ...

Thank you, illuvmilka, for your help. I have been waiting for the translation for a long time... It is my own poem and I'd like to have a good translation of it...Yours is quite similar to my own translation. I like it very much.

But literally translating the first sentence is: You kindle a bonfire in me... So, what is better?

And, isn't better:
It takes a long time to fade ...
-->to die down/fade away

It's not worth it --> worth of it?

Now, I'm waiting for the opinion of English expert...

Odnośnie pierwszego zdania,'you kindle a bonfire in me..." to jest ono oczywiście poprawne, podobnie jak "you light a fire in me ...".

Co do worth to osobiscnie nigdy nie spotkałam sie z konstrukcja worth of it. Poprawna wersja brzmi 'worth it'.

Pozdrawiam

I ask Lilian Canale to take care of the evaluation.

Lilly, we will type in English next comments with Ania (translator). I would insist that "bonfire" is better - it is direct translation of Polish "ognisko" and it has metaphorical meaning here...

Ok, it's absolutely fine to write in english. Obviously if you want to put 'bonfire' instead of 'fire' it'll still be correct. It's your poetry so you can choose whichever version you want
