Goedenavond Lein,
Re 'Hukm boet' - Afrikaans it is, with some mistakes and English and Zulu loan words.
Corrected: Hoekom boet? Yes boeta hoe gaan dit? Ag, maar net babalas** en mis vir sy*!
Lui die klokkie.
* ‘Sy’ doesn’t make sense, as it is the nominative case of a personal pronoun. Should be an accusative (haar).
Or it could be a possessive pronoun with the noun missing like in ‘mis vir sy ma’ (missing his mom). Or the author could have written ‘sy’ by mistake instead of ‘jou’ (you).
**Babalas is a loan word from Zulu, meaning ‘een kater’/’a hangoverâ€. Quite common in colloquial Afrikaans.
Suggested translation: Why brother? Yes brother, how are things? Oh, just a hangover and I’m missing her(?)/ you(?)
I hope this helps,
Guido
