W obronie kobiety.

In defence of a woman.
Oh, I'm so sorry, I really didn't mean that.
Sorry? You apologize, but it hurts her!
Sorry, I didn't mean to...
What didn't you mean to? I do not mean that either!
Although it wasn't too harmful, I won't let anybody hurt us. I will know how to stick up for ourselves.

Hi Aneta

I think 'I do not mean that either would sound better here. 'as well' would be ok if you meant 'I do not mean for you to do that as well (in addition to everything you have done already)'. Would that be ok?

Well, this text is a bit weird, even in Polish. I am not sure what "Co nie chciałeś, ja też nie chcę " exactly refers to. But it sounds fine to me with "either" too.

Yes, it sounds a bit like someone is deliberately misunderstanding the other in order to provoke him / her. Anyhow, I've set a poll

Edyta, could you have a look at this translation? I trust Aneta but as I can't understand a word of the original, I would like someone to confirm it
Thanks!

Hej Lein!

Thanks! An excellent example of killing two birds with one stone - I'll practice my Swedish at the same time as checking this English translation!

I'll approve because as far as I can see, the meaning is fine.

but just to be sure, because I don't speak a lot of Swedish, could you take a look and edit if necessary, Pia?

Thanks all!

Hello Lein

I don't understand the source language & my English is not perfect, but looking at Edyta's Swedish bridge I think the meaning is OK... but a few edits could be done:

"Oh, I'm so SORRY" ---> "Oh, I APOLOGIZE so much"
('ber om ursäkt' doesn't express any emotions, polite but somewhat cold)

"I really didn't mean that." ---> "I really didn't mean to DO IT."

--> Literal: "I don't allow anyone to step on (our) toes" Meaning: "I don't allow anyone to insult us"

Hej tjejer!
