Starting October 2007, we have begun deleting all name translation requests, because the community has insisted on the fact that names are not translated. At the very most, there is something we like to call [b]transliteration[/b] (that is, transferring from one system of writing to another).

This decision has been taken in response to the astronomical quantity of name "translation" requests, which have managed to annoy us.

Finally, since this is a site for [b]translations[/b] and not for [b]transliterations[/b], we reserve our right, according to our own criteria, to only translate requests which present some kind of linguistic interest.

I also didn't translate literally. I think there might be a small omission at the end, the final sentence didn't quite make sense to me, so I adapted it so it still sounded right.

Начиная с Октября 2007, мы начали удалять все запросы на перевод имен, поскольку сообщество настояло на факте, что имена не переводятся. В большинстве своем, есть то, что нам нравится называть [b]транслитерация[/b] (тоесть, перевод из одной системы письма в другую).

Решение было принято как ответ на астрономическое количество запросов на "перевод" имен, что начало нам надоедать.

В конце концов, поскольку это сайт для [b]переводов[/b], а не для b]транслитераций[/b], мы оставляем за собой право, руководствуясь нашими собственными критериями, переводить только те запросы, которые представляют хоть какой-то лингвистический интерес.
