Lyrics By France Gall "Ella elle l'a"
(tribute to Ella Fitzgerald )

C'est comme une gaieté
Comme un sourire
Quelque chose dans la voix
Qui parle et nous dit "viens"
Qui nous fait sentir étrangement bien
C'est comme toute l'histoire
Du peuple noir
Qui se balance
Entre l'amour et l'désespoir
Quelque chose qui danse en toi
Si tu l'as, tu l'as
Quand tu l'as tu l'as

Aïe, sorry, I think it can be translatable, as there is one subject, one verb and one object.
Into which language was it requested, Lilian? I

Well, thanks for the intention, Salvo! the fact is that I do prefer France Gall's version, not only because she is the author of this song, but because this version you linked is too fast, moreover disco style (and I hate disco! )

Look (or rather, listen!), rythm is too chopped and this girl sings too fast, and the music has lost its "funky" character just to become colder, it isn't the kind of music that matches the speech, which is a tribute to this great lady of the jazz, Ella Fitzgerald. IMHO.

So, to answer your question, I would say : "worse". About disco, or course my personal opinion just involves myself, but when I was young I used to listen at Rolling Stones, BB King Johnny Winter, Allman brothers, Rory Gallagher, and many other groups who played blues, rythm and blues, rock and roll and progressive music...then the disco came on stage with stuff like "You're crazy like a foooool, come on daddy cooool!" and this really pissed me off...and now one's gotta stand the comeback of the disco! grrr!

hehehehhe I see similarities in you with my father... he was born in 1955, too.

I remember another French song from the French lesson at school: Panne de coeur!
So, you don't like Boney M?

Do you remember Raffaella Carrà's song "A far l'amore comincia tu"? I didn't find the song in French for you Pero aquí para lily (¿para o por?)

Rafaella Carrà, héhé, no I don't know this song, nor the singer, I was rather listening other musics, like Talking heads (David Byrne)
http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=EYbUCvz1LYE
Excellent group, Talking Heads, yeah!
Note the linked track "Once in a lifetime" was issued later than 1977 (don't remember the year)
This one isn't bad either : http://www.lastfm.fr/music/Talking+Heads/+videos/+1-1YxD_X9n-WA .
But let's stop here as some threads might already be opened in the forum about music and different cultures, this reminds me there was some French music I've got to post in one of these threads.
