"Where Would Man Be Without The Bible?
The Bible is very familiar to all of us, if not its content, its existence. There are few in our day and in our country that have not heard of the Bible, seen a Bible or own more than one copy of the Bible. The TV Guide may be used more than the Bible but at least people have knowledge of its existence. This presents an interesting question about the Bible. What would the world be like if the Bible did not exist? Where would man be if the Bible had not been preserved over the centuries for men today? How would we know the things we do without the Bible? Let us consider some conclusions about what the world would be like without the Bible.
The Bible is the only book that tells us where we came from. The Koran, neither the Book of Mormon nor any other book gives man the knowledge of creation. If man did not have the Bible, we would be lost in a world of green slime ooze as our beginning. The knowledge of our being made in the image of God would remain forever a mystery. The book of Genesis alone tells of how the worlds were made, how man came into being, the institution of marriage, the naming of the animals, the relationship man has with God, the origin of the many languages of our world, the reason for a belief in a flood and many more details that can only be found in the word of God.
The Bible reveals events of history that cannot be explained without aid of the Bible. The migration of over a million people from Egypt, the seed of all men coming from one seed, the movement of nations and their downfall is all revealed in the pages of the Bible. The events of the first century have a foundation in the expression of the word of God through the Bible. Without the Bible, the spread of the church was not possible. Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Without the revealed word of God, faith would not be possible.
The word of God is contained within the pages of the Bible. Without God revealing His word to man, faith would be lacking. God chose the written word to let man know who man is, how he came into being, why he was created and where he is going. In concert with this information is an accountability of man to God. From these words, men are able to form their system of faith and pattern their actions after the will of God. David described the knowledge of God in two ways: the manner of creation and the manner of special revelation. After showing how God has given evidence of Himself through creation, David expresses the importance of the words of God. "The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward." (Psalm 19:7-11)
Where would man be if the law, the testimony, the commandment, the fear and the judgments of the Lord were not given? The soul could not be changed, the wisdom of God could not be known, there would nothing to rejoice about, there would be no purity, truth and righteousness and no hope! Man would be only an animal left to his own fleshly desires and wants. There is no book in the history of man that can claim and prove it to be the fully revealed word of God to convert, clarify, proclaim, enlighten or make known the work of God.
The Bible is the only book that gives man a pattern of how to live with one another. The Koran teaches acceptance of killing those who do not agree with its doctrines. The Bible has been used by men to forge wars and destroy nations but this is in contrast to the truth found in the Bible. Over the last 2000 years, the Bible has been the basis of persecution, trials, murder, wars, kingdoms falling and the core of power to keep a whole world in darkness. Here we find how men have taken the holy word and used it for unholy purposes.
Consider for moment what the history of man in the last 2000 years would be like if the Bible did not exist. Where would the power and persecution of the Roman Catholic Church be without their abuse of the Bible? The Dark Ages, the Crusades, the persecution of thousands of people and the murder of thousands more stain the pages of men's actions of using the Bible as their sword of truth. In our time, the Roman Catholic Church has hidden behind its veil of religion to mask a dark secret of priest sexually abusing children. All of this done in the name of God! Men have shamed the very essence of the Almighty by their treatment of God's word.
Our country was founded upon the blessing from those suffering religious persecution. This land would be called the United States of America and find as its founding fathers, the value of the Bible as their guide. Where would our George Washington's, Thomas Jefferson's and John Quincy Adam's come from if not from a basic belief and reliance upon the Bible?
George Washington said, "Above all, the pure and benign light of Revelation has had a meliorating influence on mankind, and increased the blessings of society." Thomas Jefferson wrote: "I always have said, and always will say, that the studious perusal of the Sacred Volume will make better citizens, better fathers, and better husbands." John Quincy Adams proclaimed, "The first and almost the only book deserving of universal attention is the Bible. I speak as a man of the world ... and I say to you, search the Scriptures." Benjamin Franklin gave this advice to a young man when he said, "My advice to you is that you cultivate an acquaintance with, and a firm belief in, the Holy Scriptures. This is your certain interest."
Stop for a moment and think about the world without the Bible. How different it would be. How empty, how void, how chaotic and corrupt men would be. But God be thanked that He has given us the completed mind of the Creator to creation and that from the pages of God's word we can have happiness, peace, understanding and hope. From its pages we can know that we are made in His image. (Genesis 1:27) Because of this we can know that we are loved. (John 3:16) Through this knowledge we can come to know Jesus Christ.
The world is evidence to God but it is not evidence of Jesus Christ. David wrote in Psalm 19 that the heavens declare the glory of God but you will not find the story of Jesus Christ in nature. His story can only be found in the written word. Only from the Bible - not the Koran, not the book of Mormon, not any other book - can one find the story of Jesus Christ. If the Bible did not exist, man would not know about Jesus Christ. What purpose would there be in living without this knowledge? God unfolds His scheme of redemption through the many words of the Bible. As men read those words, they learn of God's love, the coming of the Son of God, His sacrifice, His blood on the cross, His resurrection and His will. The result is what Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:15 - "And that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
The knowledge of what to do to be saved is found in the Bible. This knowledge is based on faith which is based upon the word of God. The conclusion is the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Without the Bible, this could not be done. Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:3-5, "How that by revelation He made known to me the mystery (as I have briefly written already, by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ), which in other ages was not made known to the sons of men, as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets." The Bible reveals the mystery of God. It is revealed in words that can be read and through this reading understanding can take place. In the Bible, all things have been revealed that man needs to know to be saved.
The final thought on this matter must be that since the Bible does exist and God has revealed His mind to man through the written word for men today - what are we to do? First, man must recognize the responsibility he has toward the word of God. Faith comes from the word of God and my faith in God is based upon my knowledge of God's word. Many homes have more than one Bible and yet few take the time to read it. What will God say when we stand before Him and He asks why we did not read His word? Everything we need to know is there and yet we spend little time in mediation of its truths. Timothy was told to "give attention to reading." (1 Timothy 4:13) The reason is further stated in verse 16: "Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you."
Secondly, men must handle aright the Bible, the word of God. "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15) To correctly divide the word of truth is to handle with care the teachings of God's word. It is to understand the importance of presenting the Bible in the proper manner as God has revealed it - not as man divides it. God's word stands firm and is unchanging. To be a student of the Bible is to make certain we teach the precepts of God alone.
Third, the truth of what is revealed in God's word must be obeyed. The Bible was not given just for information but for answers to what man must do. It is not just a book to give a warm feeling of love toward Christ and the Father. Jesus expressed it this way: "But why do you call Me `Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46) The only ones who will be saved are those who "do the will of my Father." (Matthew 7:21-23)
The question is not, "Where would man be without the Bible." The question is, "Where are you today with the Bible?" There is nothing more God can reveal to man and will reveal to man. (1 Corinthians 13:10; 2 Peter 1:2-4) The final question will be, "What will you do with the Bible?" It is the word of God and from those words salvation is offered. The word must be read, believed and obeyed as the truth from the mouth of God. Anything less is less than what God wants of you and me. Thank you God for such a book as the Bible. "

OK, OK, but if you want it to be translated into Romanian, you should :

1) Divide it in several "chapters", so that it can be translated with the 300 points you will get every 10 days

2) Be patient, as sometimes a translation can take several days before it is translated...

3) Submit your text(s) in the translations requests area

4) look for a Romanian version of this text (Maybe in Bucharest?)that will avoid you waiting too long...
