I think that languages that aren't very common and don't have an expert should automatically get voted upon. That way, there aren't giant queues of translations awaiting the first expert, and the translations get done. What do you all think of this?

Good idea. I will add this in my todo list. The only problem I see is the performance issue as each time a member log in, the system search the databse for translations he can evaluate. This is a big sql request with a lot of table joins. And the more polls there are, the more heavy it will be. But it sounds possible.

Maybe it would help if someone who knows a related language (such as Polish for Czech, or Farsi for Kurdish) could give an opinion on these translations into rare languages, but I'm not sure how to do this.

I don't think the polls help more than they add work for everyone. And, when used as substitutes for evaluation by an expert, I think they are contrary to the values of Cucumis.

We just need to recruit someone who is qualified to evaluate...
