I'm Josephine. I can translate from English to traditional Chinese, vice versa, and Japanese to traditional Chinese. I'm working on my German and hopefully will be able to do German/traditional Chinese translations in the near future.

I'm also interested in the languages you speak - portuguese and spanish.
I guess the portuguese spoken in Brazil is somewhat different from the same spoken in Portugal.

What do you think is the most challenging part of German learning? For me, the verbs pose the greatest challenge.

So, one of my aunts speaks french, and when I was 12 years old I asked her a french lessons book. But when I start to learn english, that book wasn't very used... only a few words and two sentences (La nourriture du voisin est delicioux, Aujourd'ui c'est dimanche) I don't know if is written right... I like to learn as a child learns, I like to hear music, and I guess this makes the learning much much useful, and pronounciation too, of course, even if takes loger to do it. But I have no hurry... haha =-)...

The german learning was last year with my brother (12 years old, just like my story... He's learning italian too in his school.), and we stoped because of time. Tthe book I got from a history teacher friend of mine... We only did the lessons for one day, that's why I can't tell what part of german is challenging to me.
I'm a self-learner not only in languages, I like to learn different things, from medical terms to instruments... I like to be the kind of person who wants to know a little more about everything.

Yes, Portugal's portuguese is a little different from Brazil's, even inside Brazil we have differences, it's a big country. Look at this page.

Very sorry that it takes me so long to reply your message. You have a very bright and sweet smile, which matches your nickname.

I think it's the best way to learn a language like a child does. The only problem is that the brains of most adults don't function in the same way as those of childen when it comes to language learning. Logic thinking is more involved than intuitive reflection.

I think it's a great idea to learn German with your 12-yr-old brother. You are still a teenager yourself. So, I guess you have a good potential in your German learning.

I also sort of teach myself German. I've been living in Germany since 4 years. I went to German classes for 4 months at the beginning. Afterwards, I kind of let the nature take its course. Now, I try to use German with acquaintances here although it remains pretty unsatisfactory.

As for the two links, I think BBC is quite useful for beginners. ALBIS is as you said good for expanding your Wortschatz especially the gender of nouns.

I also studied a bit French before. I find it easier than German. Particularly so for you, I suppose, since you speak two other Romance languages.
