I submitted a request for translation but it took me into minus virtual points, is that allowed?

Also it looks like I'm being charged more points than the person doing the translation will actually earn - is that right? Where do the other points go?

From my limited "experience" on this site, I can tell you that you "loose" points when you ask for a translation. For example, I have added several times a new language to a request translation (somebody asked for a translation from Portughese into Romanian, but I don't speak Portughese, so I added English also). Every time the points taken were more then the one that I earned doing afterwards the translation .
The same system is when you ask for a translation. It costs you points, that's why appears that minus. When somebody do your translation, the minus transfers to "Current number of translation points". Thou, the translator gets lesser points then the one you spent. I believe works like that.

Thank you Lepurica. That's very helpful. It's a shame to lose so many points especially as I've spent more points than I've earnt! I hope some translations come up for me soon so I can earn them back again!

Yep you're right Lepurica. The "lost points" are going to the affiliation system (200 points + 5% of your affilitate points) and to the experts (each acceptation/rejection is rewarded with 1 to 10 points depending on the translation size).

For the minus virtual points you can go down to -500. It was -300 at the begining.

What happends when a translation is rejected do I get my points back I put in or what?
