Hi all,

One little poll to be sure, do you all agree to remove completely requests of names ?

I agree that requests for translating names should be removed.

Maybe we could provide an external link to a page that already does that?

why not set up an additional name database?
giving trees to show how a name is in different langauges.

I thought some time ago about a project for transliteration of names.

And no more "translations" and transliteration of names!

so almost everybody seems to agree on this. I must display a warning text before we can remove the requests.

Goncin had suggested this one :

"
As from October 2007, Cucumis doesn't accept translations of names anymore. Please check the internet for other websites on that do this job.
"

Then I can post a link to other websites or to a "Names" project on cucumis.

There is another warning I would like to replace

"
I'm aware that if the context or the text itself is not clear enough, my request might be deleted without any warning by the administration team.
"

Replaced by something like

"
We receive many requests. As a consequence, we remove the requests that are not enough commented and not typed with enough care.
"

Maybe I should also add a link to our "Popular sentences"

"
Please check these pages for translations of very common requests.
"

I removed all name translation requests from ca. June 2007 on. Cucumis seems to be more "clean" now.
