I have a suggestion for an improvement:

I would like it if the "Notify me when a reply is posted" doesn't stay checked when you have checked it once. I'd like to have to re-check it every time you want to stay notified, or at least to have the option to be un-notified about a topic or translation.

OK, I can add a link to unsubscribe.

Note that you can already unsubscribe with the link on the email you receive. This should work.

Ah - but I don't want to unsubscribe to all notifications - just when one goes off on a tangent or a discussion starts in some language I don't know.

Yes, on the email you receive about a given translation, the unsubscribe link will only unsubscribe you from the concerned translation. Will check this to be sure.

The e-mail link says the following:

I no longer wish to receive this kind of message. http://www.cucumis.org/members_1_u/p_unsubscribe_28713_5_1142__.html

I took that to mean all messages of this kind.

But I'll try it - thanks!

Yes I know this is not very clear. Can you suggest me a better text that could fit for all notifications?
There are notifications about messages, and notifications about translations done, accepted, requested etc...

I no longer wished to receive email notifications about "XXX".

I don't want anymore being notified about this discussion, unsubscribe on (link)

Writing this message, I forgot to check the "notify me", and I know that after I will not to riceive the notification, even if in the profil the option is ever checked...

Thanks, I think I will create wiki texts for each kind of notifications to make them more clear. The texts in the language files are too short.

You see, I've not receveid the notification for your message, and I'm sure that now I check the "notify", I'll receive it.

PS: jp, can you edit the "Lingua latina" into "Latino", on the Italian site? thanks

"I no longer wish to receive messages about this translation" would be good for translations, and "I no longer wish to receive messages about this forum topic" would be good for forum messages.

That's very good. Actually, I've decided to write more detailed emails using the wiki engine, and I will use these sentences. So you will be able to modify the 14 (!) kinds of emails soon online.

I have another suggestion: The place where it says "private message" when we can click on somebody's name under a note, it should just say "cc", because the term "private message" is misleading - it's not private!
