Notas sobre a tradução
Romanized:
Kazoku, kamisama, aijô, inochi, shiawase
These are as they would usually be used in daily conversation. Because they are individual words, however, they will often be said differently, depending on the context. For example, the word "life" can mean "life itself," (as in the "life force" in all living things), in which case it will be translated as above. If it means "human life" (e.g. "Isn't life crazy?"), then the translation would be
人生
(romanized: jinsei); if it means a "lifespan" (e.g. "I will remember you all my life"), then the translation would be
一生
(romanized: isshô); etc., etc...

This is a good example of why submitting single words for translation is not a good idea... ó_ò

Ian,

Please don't be angry upon me, as I had to enforce the "Cucumis is not a dictionary" rule for this request. In order to remove the whole request, I had first to reject your translation into Japanese, but I did it with a high rating (9), in order not to harm your overall rating for that language.

Hope you can understand it!

Hi Goncin,

Well, I understand your reasoning, but it would have been better if you had rejected the request before I had translated it! It took me about twenty minutes (including my careful explanation of the nuances between the different kinds of "life" ), and that time is now wasted...

Also, I now have my first Rejected Translation in my profile, and I would prefer to have none, just in case anybody wants to see that I do all my translations at a professional level. So if you're going to reject it, please remove it entirely from the record, so I will not have any Rejected Translations associated with my name.

And next time, please:
- reject the request before it's translated,
or
- do not waste my time (I don't have enough of it) and make my translation efforts pointless, by rejecting translations I have already done.

Thank you in advance for your kind understanding.

PS: If I understand the system correctly, you could have simply rejected it with no rating, and it would have had no effect on my overall rating either: it might be more convenient for you to do it that way next time.

Ian,

1) You did earned points for your translation efforts, because I rejected it with a rating.

2) This request was proposed while I was not online (I have to sleep also ), so I could not do it tempestively. Luckly, I could still delete requests for both Traditional and Simplified Chinese before they were done.

Now that's your time to figure my point.

Hi guys, in this kind of case I would accept the translation, because Ian put so many comments and efforts in this one...
We must not penalize the translators. Then, if the translation is a duplciated I can remove it completly but Ian will have earned his poitns for the effort.
Ian, now that you are aware of this next time, insterad of transalting yuo can post a emsasge and check the "I want an admin to check".

Thanks for your support, jp!

Finally, I have discovered why that "I want an admin to check" button exists! Next time, I'll use it!
