Usei linque para traduzir "link" e onláine para "online"

Creio que isto é uma forma de facilitar a vida dos alfabetizandos. Porque escrever com "i" um som que é "ai"? Ou usar o "k" que não pertence ao afabeto português ?

Gostaria de ler opiniões sobre isto.

I believe that this a way to easy the work of those who are lerning to read and write. Why should we write an "i" for a sond that is "ai"? Or use "k" which does not belong to the portuguese alphabet?

About the word "link":
One could use "ligação em hipertexto" for "link", but it would take too much space and time.
The word "link" is used in all brazilian portuguese websites already.

About the word "online":

The letter "i" never has the sound of "ai" in portuguese.
Online is common use in brazilian portuguese already (nobody uses "conectado", for instance) but I think that it should be writen more like the sound of the word: "onláine". Since portuguese is a fonetical language (most words are writen like it sounds) to change it would make the process of learning to write and read more dificult for the children.

* "site" is another word that can example this issue. I think we should write it "sáite". Some websites uses "sítio" but many others are using "site". Usually the solutions taken by the european portuguese sounds weard for brazilian ears. "Sítio" is one exemple. It is used for a small piece of country land, a little farm. I think that as european portuguese uses "quinta" for a little farm there is no problem for them to use "sítio" for "site".

But I'm not a linguist and maybe it is foolishness of mine... I don't know.

How are the french dealing with this issue ? Do you borrow words from english, especialy for internet, don't you ?

My opinion is to use what is commonly used by people in your country. If the word "link" is used, let's use it even if it is an english word.

In french we have the word "lien" for link. We use "Site web" for "web-site" and "En ligne" for "Online". But we can use the english forms too.
I think Joner can have a mor precise opinion about ths issues but as far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't invent new words like "sáite" or "onláine" if there aren't actually used.
