Why Chinese?

hi Friends, Why are humans want to learn chinese?
i think, commercial target. because China's Economy is growing.

I'm a learner of the dialect of Mandarin.Of course,it is useful-well although I work in a foreign trading company,I have never had a chance to use my Chinese But no problem,being known as the Chinese speaker boy always makes me feel cool here at work
