Christmas in Puerto Rico, is the most awaited time for Puerto Ricans. Family and friends get together to share their joy and wishes for the New Year. Itâ€™s the time of union and happiness.

The homes are decorated with lights and Christmas images. And inside the homes is the Christmas tree with presents under it. Children wait until midnight to open their presents and play with them until the early morning.

	Sunnybebek Žinučių kiekis: 758	Thanks Lilly! And I have one question. Why can't we use "Children are waiting" but should use "children wait"? Is it due to the original? If in the original was "estÃ¡n esperandos", would we say then "are waiting"? Thank you a lot! CC: lilian canale

	lilian canale Žinučių kiekis: 14972	esperan = wait estÃ¡n esperando = are waiting The text is just describing how things usually work at Christmas (permanent truth), not something that is happening now (at this moment), therefore a present progressive doesn't fit here.
