There is no problem for not translating "Mitroffanoff" and "Malone". They are proper nouns (so a priori they don't get translated). On the forum where this message will be posted, everyone knows what a "Mitroffanoff" is and the "Malone" is followed by an explanation.

Rodrigues, can you please review this text, there are lots of grammatical and structure mistakes which need to be corrected - otherwise I will have to reject it.
What's more, you skipped a whole paragraph (the third last).

Still, there are some really grave mistakes, like "Unterrichtsstunde" for "lesion" instead of "Wunde/Verletzung".

What's more "over-neglected" for example simply can't be translated as "unwichtig" - for the author of this text, the case is for sure not unimportant!

Another example: You wrote - "Als ich mich für ein oder zwei Auswertungen, die auf meiner Liste fehlten, nämlich eine Elektromiographie (EMG) und eine Zeitberechnung des Durchlasses meines Dickdarms, am letzten Dienstag anmeldete, sah ich den Professor erneut." - but I can nowhere find the word "annmelden" in the original text. "envoyer" means "send", so it should be translated accordingly to that.

These are only a few mistakes I picked out, so please look at the text again, even though I know, it's a very long and difficult one.

Sorry my text is creating you so many problems.

You can both also use the English version if it helps you. Both the English and the French texts are originals (I mean I wrote both texts myself so they both say exactly the same thing even if one is not a translation of the other).

I prefer "verletzung" (lesion) to "wunde", as for me "wunde" is "wound". And my problems are far from being "unwichtigung" - "insignificant".

Maybe calling for a poll would speed up the correction procedure?

I'm asking this because I wish to post the message on my forum and I prefer posting all the different languages at the same time. I am presently awaiting the German and Italian versions, so if I can do anything to help speed up the procdeure, do let me know.

I'm not sure about the translation of "neuropathies pudendales". "Geschlechtsteile-Neuropatie" - are you sure, this term exists in German, or have you just put the words together, in the hope it makes sense, Rodrigues? I really have no idea...


Tantine, what exactly do you mean by "traitement à la lumière" (or "treatment in the light of the EMG" in English)? Do you mean a treatment by using light as a method of cure, or is it the "saying" "in the light of"?

Its "à la lumière de" as you say, "in the light of". What I mean is, seeing the resluts of the EMG the original operation can't be done. I'm awfully sorry, I forgot a comma between "traitement" and "à la lumière", which would have made the reading easier.

For the "neuropathies pudendales" (Pudendal Neuropathies in English), a neuropathy is a nerve disorder and pudendal refers to the genitalia (the private parts lol) so it is talking about nerve damage to the nerve that leads from the sacrum and serves the private parts.

Before, in French, this nerve was called the "nerf honteux" - the shameful nerve - because of the part of the body it leads to!!

I wondered how the corrections were coming along on this?

I know you have an awful lot of German texts to evaluate and you are alone to do so, but it seems to be taking a considerable amount of time to get this one through. (Franz had already posted his first version on the 15th January, so it's been waiting for evaluation for 6 weeks now.)

I really did hope to post the different language versions collectively, but my "news" is now already so old, that I've decided that I will have to post them without the German version . I will see if I can post it separately, once it is finally evaluated.

I'm sorry, I've really not got much time these days and especially a long, medical text is very time-consuming. Therefore, I cannot guarantee for a 100% (stylistic) perfect translation... I will raise a poll and if the results are positive, I will accept it. Sorry again for this time-delay, but today for example, I could only start to "rest" at 7 p.m. - before that I was totally busy with school + studying.

Ich bitte um Verzeihung, so lange von TFD abwesend gewesen zu sein, aber ich hatte ernste Probleme mit meinem Computer und konnte somit seit Oktober nicht mehr aufs Internet zugreifen.

Wie Sie wissen, war ich auf der Suche nach einem Medizinprofessor, welcher meinen unwichtigen Fall leiten kann.

Dank TFD und speziell *** fand ich im Krankenhaus Timone in Marseille eine kleine Perle.

Dieser Professor ist Spezialist in Chirurgie des Verdauungsapparats und Proktologie, außerdem ist er Spezialist für Geschlechtsteile-Neuropathie im Südosten Frankreichs.
Er behandelte bereits beide Typen SCT's, angeborene und nachjugendliche.

Als ich mich für ein oder zwei Auswertungen, die auf meiner Liste fehlten, nämlich eine Elektromiographie (EMG) und eine Zeitberechnung des Durchlasses meines Dickdarms, am letzten Dienstag anmeldete, sah ich den Professor erneut.

Die Ergebnisse des EMG sind weit weg vom Ideal, sie zeigen eine größere Zone der verletzten Nerven auf, als erwartet.
Die neurologischen Unterrichtsstunden sind auf dem Niveau des Kreuzbeinwirbels und erreichen verschiedene Nerven, nicht nur den Geschlechtsteilnerv.

In Folge dieser Ergebnisse kann er nicht mehr auf Stuhlinkontinenz indizieren (Operation, die den geschädigten analen Schließmuskel mit einem aus dem Schenkel entnommenen Muskel ersetzt). Nicht nur die Nerven der linken Seite sind so geschädigt, um diese Funktion zu erlauben, er glaubt, dass dies mein linkes Bein zu sehr schwächen würde (welches schon das Schwächere beider ist).

Im Zweifelsfall müssen wir "Plan B" oder gar "Plan C" anwenden.
So wie ich es verstand, ist der letzte Weg ein künstlicher Ausgang (operativ) gefolgt von einem Malonen-Eingriff (sehr ähnlich einem Mitroffanoff, allerdings den Dickdarm unbrauchbar machend im Gegensatz zur Entleerung der Blase). Der "Plan C" wäre eine Malone mit einer permantentem Kolostomie.

Ich werde den Professor Mitte März erneut sehen, um eine endgültige Entscheidung zu treffen. Zwischenzeitlich verschrieb er mir eine Behandlung zur Verkürzung der Durchlasszeit des Dickdarms (hinzufügend sagte er, dass er nicht viel Hoffnung hat, dass sie viel bewirkt). Ich glaube, dass er mir die zwei Monate Zeit gibt, damit ich mich an die Idee gewöhnen kann.

Ich wurde auch an eine Spezialisierte Schmerzklinik (auch im Timone-Krankenhaus) weitervermittelt, um meine Lichtbehandlung des EMG zu erhalten.

Ich sprach mit ihm, ist klar, über TFD, und er zeigte sich sehr an unserer Form, sich der Fragen zu stellen, interessiert. Er bat mich, ihm den Link per e-mail zu senden. Er sagte mir auch, dass er (mit anderen Kinderarzt-Professoren) an einem Regierungsprojekt Frankreichs für ein besseres Entgegenkommen und eine bessere Begleitung der Art der angeborenen Missbildung, in die wir interessiert sind, teilnimmt.
