si credo che il "le permettono" sia riferito alla vescica. Perché la "stoma continente o stomia continente" oppure anche detta "procedura di mitrofanoff", è una procedura chirurgica durante la quale viene introdotto un catetere nella vescica che poi deve essere svuotato.

I checked out with Porfhyr, and the botulinum toxin is effectively used to make the stoma grow, and not the bladder.

It is the stoma that shall grow by using the botulinum toxin. To be precise, the external connection must grow to form a completely safe exit for the urine to pass, otherwise it is a huge risk for peritonitis and septicaemia. I was undecided if "celle-ci" should refer to the bladder or to the stoma. I tried to check on specialized websites, but I was unsuccessful, so I made a decision which has eventually proved wrong. In Italian it should be: "... ogni 8 mesi permettono a quest'ultimo di crescere..."
