J'ai de la misère à trouver une traduction pour "Je me fais un peu attendre", un peu à cause du contexte, et ce n'est pas trop une expression utilisé au Canada. Est-ce que "Je suis un peu en retard" est l'équivalent?

I don't know. The lack of context defeats me too. Someone else who corresponds with the author offers the translation "Sorry I kept you all waiting a bit, but I'm in the middle of moving house."

After I posted the translation request, I deduced that the second phrase ("les cartons m'appelle"; the -nt in my request is a typo) is "cardboard boxes are calling me".

Regarding context... The source is a post on a tumor survivors support group; most of the post, the part loaded with obscure medical terms, I can translate with ease.
